Strategy Buys $1B in Bitcoin, Now Holds 592K BTC Total

Strategy, the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has purchased 10,100 more Bitcoin for about $1.05 billion. The latest buy was made between June 9 and June 15, 2025, according to a Form 8-K filed with the SEC. The average price per Bitcoin for this purchase was $104,080.
This brings Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 592,100 BTC. The company has now spent approximately $41.84 billion to acquire these coins, with an average purchase price of $70,666 each. The update came as part of a broader disclosure covering the company’s recent fundraising and spending.
The company used the proceeds from the sale of three classes of preferred stock STRK, STRF, and STRD, to fund the latest Bitcoin purchase. Most of the funds came from the STRD offering, which raised around $979.7 million after fees. This offering was completed on June 10, 2025.
Just a week earlier, the company reported a 17.1% year-to-date gain on its Bitcoin holdings, raising its goal to a 25% return by the end of the year. For the current quarter, the investment is up 7.4%, according to the firm’s internal tracking.
The announcement came as Bitcoin held steady near $104,000 following recent geopolitical tensions. During the same week, Bitcoin dropped from highs of $110,000 after reports of an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. Strategy appeared to take advantage of this dip. At the time of writing this report, Bitcoin is trading at $107,711.

Meanwhile, Japan-based Metaplanet also revealed a new Bitcoin buy shortly before Strategy’s announcement. The firm added 1,112 BTC worth $117.2 million, reaching its 2025 target of 10,000 BTC. Saylor congratulated the Metaplanet team on X, tagging several executives and praising their efforts.
Strategy’s Bitcoin stash is the largest among public companies. It continues to grow its position aggressively through both stock offerings and treasury allocation. The company maintains a real-time dashboard at strategy.com for public updates on its Bitcoin activity.
