ProCap Buys 1,208 BTC to Speed Up $1B BTC Treasury Plan

Anthony Pompliano’s Bitcoin-focused firm, ProCap BTC, has purchased another 1,208 BTC, just a day after it made headlines for buying $386 million worth of Bitcoin. The new purchase, valued at around $125 million, was announced on June 24, 2025, and is part of the company’s plan to build a $1 billion Bitcoin treasury.

The Bitcoin was acquired at a time-weighted average price of $105,977 per coin, according to a press release. This brings ProCap BTC’s total holdings to 4,932 BTC. The firm is rapidly deploying funds raised to offer investors direct exposure to Bitcoin through its balance sheet.

Just a day earlier, ProCap BTC had purchased 3,724 BTC as part of the same program. That move came shortly after the company revealed plans to merge with Columbus Circle Capital Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company, in a $1 billion business deal. The goal is to take the company public as ProCap Financial and trade under the ticker symbol “CCCM.”

According to the previous report, “The Company has wasted no time delivering for its investors by deploying the funds raised at signing to accumulate bitcoin.” Pompliano also noted via X (formerly Twitter) that the firm had filed Form 8-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to confirm the proposed merger agreement.

Once the merger is completed, ProCap Financial aims to hold up to $1 billion in Bitcoin. The company believes Bitcoin is a better benchmark for value than traditional financial instruments. The recent purchases are part of a long-term strategy to build a strong digital asset foundation.

Interestingly, the release also pointed out that the Day 2 average price might differ from the “Signing Bitcoin Price” used in the business combination terms signed on June 23.

The company also revealed that Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, will serve as an independent director on the board of ProCap Financial once the deal closes.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is sitting at 107,361, with a total market cap of 2.13T, according to CoinMarketcap.
