Ripple CTO Calls Trump Wallet Launch a “Bizarre Situation”

Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, is raising eyebrows across the crypto world after calling the recent Trump wallet launch a “very bizarre situation.” The unexpected move has triggered serious questions about how authentic the project is and its links to the Trump family or lack thereof.
The controversy began when TrumpMeme, a platform reportedly tied to FightFightFight LLC, announced the launch of a new TRUMP coin wallet., the same company behind the official Trump coin launched earlier this year.
The announcement was amplified by Magic Eden in an X post, sparking excitement among some users. But things quickly turned messy, as Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump both publicly denied any connection to the project, with Donald Trump Jr, stating “The Trump Organization has zero involvement with this wallet product,” adding, “Eric Trump and I know nothing about it.”
Eric Trump also warned Magic Eden directly, saying “This project is not authorized by The Trump Organization. Magic Eden I would be extremely careful using our name in a project that has not been approved and is unknown to anyone in our organization.”
In response to this, Schwartz took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concern over the strange situation, stating “This is a very bizarre situation,” he wrote, pointing out that both Magic Eden and TrumpMeme had posted the same announcement, yet both Trump sons publicly denied it.
Schwartz questioned the whole scenario “Were both accounts hacked to post a fake announcement? That seems very unlikely. What is going on here?!”. His post echoed what many in the crypto space were thinking, is this a fake launch, a marketing stunt, or a case of unauthorized use of the Trump name?
According to a New York Times report, Eric Trump is now considering legal action against platforms and individuals using the Trump brand without permission.
Right now, it’s still not clear if the Trump wallet launch was done by past collaborators or if someone tried to mislead the public. But since Ripple’s CTO pointed out the strange details, the crypto community is paying close attention and waiting to see what really happened.
